Personally, I’ve been a vegan for almost 6 years now and something I learned very quickly is that militant veganism does not work. When you insult people for their choices, they aren’t going to change their mind and agree with you – they’re going to feel attacked, become defensive and neither of you are going to actually listen to one another. This goes for politics, lifestyles, everything.
The way to make someone open to potentially changing their point of view is **not** to tell them that their way of thinking is *worse* than yours, but by trying to convey that there is – in your opinion – a *better* way to do things. People generally want positive change as opposed to negative influence; to feel better, not “less worse.”
Also, it goes both ways. You have to be willing to have your mind changed too for a healthy conversation.
